TikTok currently the best social media platform, the creators can have more than hundred million views, many comments and feedbacks with a little effort. TikTok is focuses on the short videos, formerly called Musically. In the beginning the platform built on dancing videos, but nowadays you can find lot of content, from tech to cooking, from IRL to news.
Also the probability that someone will follow you is better than like in Facebook, because the for you page – the organic feed – is better than in any other platform, so there’s a good chance that someone will find you by just simply scrolling through TikTok. As a gamer or a streamer, you have the chance to stream to TikTok from OBS Studio.
In this guide we going through each step how you can stream to TikTok from OBS. It’s an easy way to do, and you only need a phone with a TikTok account, and a PC or notebook to run OBS with the content what you want to stream. You don’t need any third-party software to do so, but let’s see in details.
1. Download and Setup OBS
If you haven’t got already the OBS Studio, you need to download it, and install from their original site, obsproject.com. We have a full guide how you can set up OBS, for the best settings to get out the most performance from you computer. OBS Studio is an open source software, therefore you don’t need to purchase it. Another alternative, that you can use for streaming is Streamlabs OBS, or in short SLOBS. Which is built upon OBS Studio, but with function like donations, chatbots, etc. that uses Streamlabs platform.
After you installed the software you need to setup OBS, at least create one or two scenes, where you put sources like your webcam, or desktop-gaming screen. Of course, you can do more, by adding transitions, or lower thirds to your stream.
One thing you may want to focus is that TikTok is only plays video in vertically, while your computer picture is set to horizontally. Therefore you should stream ing 6:19, than 19:6. In pixels, 1080×1920 , than 1920×1080. You can change this setting, in OBS at the Settings, under the Video tab. Change the Base as well as the Output resolution the previous mentioned values, and you’re good to go.

2. Open TikTok and Select Streaming
The next step is to open TikTok and click on the plus sign. Instead of create a video you should scroll right and select the Live option.

When you’re at the live option, select Cast on PC/Mac option, and click on the Go LIVE buttion.

After you hit the button a popup will appear with the above informations. You need the Server URL and the Stream key.
Also we should mention, that the requirements for live streaming on TikTok is the followings:
- 16+ years old
- 1000+ followers
If you haven’t reached already these, then you can’t go live on TikTok. You should make some video, and get that 1000+ followers, It can be done faster than you think, with a little effort and a content calendar.
3. Setup Stream Settings in OBS and Start Streaming to TikTok
The last step is to simply paste the Server URL and the Server key into the OBS. This setting is available under the Stream tab. Right know you can’t find TikTok service, so you need to select Custom…, where you will get the option to type in the connection infos. After you done, hit OK.

The final step is to hit Start Streaming and you’re live! You should also record the streaming, because later on you can create cuts and small videos from your stream easily. And make it viral.

Stream with Streamlabs OBS
As we mentioned above, there’s other streaming softwares and services that you can use to stream to TikTok. One of them, which is maybe the best alternative to OBS is Streamlabs. You can download the software from their website for free. One of our favorite solution that they have is the multistreaming option. With that, you can simultaneously stream to streaming platforms, like YouTube, Facebook and TikTok. We didn’t say Twitch directly, because If you have a partnership with them, you can only stream to their platform.
After all, If you want to use Streamlabs OBS to stream to TikTok, than you need to follow the same steps as we mentioned before. After you installed the software, the settings for the Server URL you can find at the bottom-left corner, the gear icon.

After a popup will appear, under the Stream Tab, select “Custom Streaming Server” stream type, and type the TikTok server url and key. The last step is to simply hit Done.

Why you should stream to TikTok?
However there are other platforms, where you can specifically stream gaming or talk show content, but in TikTok, still have, a better chance to gain followers, and find new viewers. In Twitch and other platforms, right now have a big-time competition for viewers, but in TikTok you can achieve the better numbers with the same effort. Later on, you can switch to Facebook, YouTube or Twitch to streaming.
