To add alerts to OBS Studio, you need to use a third-party provider, like Streamlabs or StreamElements. With their widget creator, or built-in notification system, you can connect your Twitch account, and display information about subscription, donation or followers.

How to Add Alerts to OBS Studio with Streamlabs?
The most well-known provider these days is Streamlabs. They not only focusing alerts, but you can receive donations through their platform, as well as, use their chatbot, overlays and transitions. In the last year, their created a merchant store too, well you only need to provide your logo, and design, then they create shirt, hoodie, everything. Let’s see how you can use their alerts in OBS.
The first thing to do is create a Streamlabs account. If you already have one, lets go to the Alert box page, and copy the Widget URL.

With the help of this link, we will create a custom browser source in OBS. This link is a universal solution, to show all of your notification, which comes from Twitch. With the latest updates you can use them with YouTube as well.
In this tutorial we think you already set up your OBS Studio precisely, but If you’re not, here’s your tutorial. Open OBS, and click on the plus sign under the Sources tab, then select Browser.

Name your source as like “Alerts”, then hit OK. The following picture will welcome you.

Place the copied URL to the URL field, you can use the default width and height, enable Control audio via OBS, then click on OK. ( If you enable control audio, you don’t need to change on Streamlabs, but directly in OBS.) Select your source and place anywhere you want.

The last step is to test the notifications, you can do it, by the trigger buttons on Streamlabs site, where we copied the URL. And that’s it, you’re ready to go.

Use Streamlabs OBS
However you can place alerts in OBS without a doubt, but there’s one more option in the area of Streamlabs, their streaming software. Streamlabs OBS is built upon the OBS Studio, but with the features of their platform. With that you don’t need to place URL-s or anything, with just a click you can active notifications, directly in the software.
After you installed the software, (if you’re not here’s a tutorial to setup Streamlabs OBS), click on the plus sign next to the Sources tab. Select Alertbox in Essential Sources, then hit Add Source.

Name the source, then directly in the software, you have the option to change the design, layout, colors and which alerts you want to display.

Also, here you can leave the width and the height settings, then click on Done. Again, place where you want to show these notifications. In the end, test it with the button at the bottom of the software.

How to Add Alerts to OBS with StreamElements?
We covered everything in Streamlabs, but there’s another big player in streaming, StreamElements. After you connected your account to the platform, go ahead to the Overlays gallery under the Streaming tools tab.

Select Alerts, where you can find many predefined templates. Find your one, and hit Create. After the create button, and the naming, you get a URL, which you can place in the OBS Studio. This is the same process, we discussed above in OBS Studio, also in Streamlabs OBS, but with browser source!

Edit Alerts in StreamElements
One of the feature of StreamElements, that you can also Edit, these alerts easily, in your browser, without downloading anything. Select My Overlays and click Edit.

This is the alert editor, where you can change settings of every type of alert, follower, subscriber, tip, donation, etc. If you want to change one of them, under the Settings tab, click on the gear icon. On the left panel you will find all of the settings.

There you can change, the alert message, the duration, the picture/video, sounds, everything. If you managed to set up the alerts, just click on the Save butten at the upper-right corner. Also you can test them with the Emulate button at the bottom of the screen.
StreamElements also covers you in Merch, Donations and Chatbot. You can add new commands with the help of the platform, create your shirts and hoodies, or accept donations to your PayPal account.
Use OWN3D to Create and Add Alerts
In OWN3D you can also find your Alert designs. This platform made for premium overlay templates, that includes alerts, banners, emotes, badges. There is many browser-based makers too, where you can create your own logo, design, badge or avatar.
After you download the template you can use them in OBS, Streamlabs or StreamElements, by install or import them into the platform. You will get a detailed instruction of the setup, and by that you can stand out, with the help of the premium alerts.
